Tedd L. Weisman, M.D., FAAOS is Chairman of the Milford Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Weisman has served as Vice President of the Medical Staff at Milford Hospital from 2006-2008. He will become President of the Milford Hospital Medical Staff commencing in 2009. He has served the Greater New Haven and Fairfield County communities since 1993. Dr. Weisman has been a member of the New Haven County Medical Society and the Connecticut State Medical Society since 1993. Dr. Weisman has been a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons since 1992 and had passed the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons re-certification examination in 2001.
Prior to his arrival in Milford, Dr. Weisman was an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical College in Westchester, New York. He was also Chief, Section of Hand Surgery at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York.
Dr. Weisman completed a Hand and Micro-Vascular Surgical Fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital in 1990. He was Chief Resident, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City in 1988-89.
Dr. Weisman received his M.D. degree from New York Medical College in 1984 and his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980.
Amit Lahav, M.D., FAAOS is a member of the Active Attending Staff at Milford Hospital. Dr. Lahav had completed two orthopedic specialty fellowships, one in Adult Joint Reconstructive (Joint Replacement) Surgery and the second in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Prior to his arrival in Milford, Dr. Lahav was a visiting instructor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center. He was also an attending staff member in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Salt Lake City Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Lahav has introduced innovative ideas for the care and treatment of orthopedic patients at Milford Hospital. He has authored many articles in the orthopedic literature and has lectured at numerous medical conferences nationally.
Dr. Lahav completed an Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship and an Adult Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Utah. He is proficient in arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive total joint replacement surgery, including computer navigation and robotic assisted surgery. He has special interest in state of the art surgical technology to provide more accurate and precise results for the patient.
Dr. Lahav was Chief Resident, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York. He received his M.D. degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in 1998; and his B.S. degree in Engineering from The Cooper Union in 1994.
Aaron Schachter, M.D. spent the 2007-2008 year in the premier Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Orthopedic Surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He was part of the medical team caring for the New York Jets football team, the New York Islanders hockey team and the Hunter College and Hofstra University athletic teams. He completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. He is also well trained in orthopedic trauma surgery having completed additional training at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore in 2005.
Dr. Schachter was born and raised in Kentucky and received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He attended college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina where he graduated Magna cum Laude.
Dr. Schachter has authored and co-authored many papers and research articles related to sports medicine and orthopedic trauma.
He is a member of the Milford Medical Society, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and a candidate member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
